Brittany and Chase are just the sweetest! Well, all of my bride and grooms are but hey, nothing wrong with that! They are currently living in Alabama, but planning their summer 2015 wedding for Florida. I collaborated with their wedding florist, Rachael Kasie and we decided to work with a sweet, nautical, and cozy theme for their January session. Congrats Brittany and Chase! We are very excited for your big day! Florals & props: Rachael Kasie Designs Assistant/ Second Shooter: Danielle Taufer

An intimate backyard style wedding with a southern-eclectic touch As an artist it's important for me to not only stay busy with work, but to make time for personal projects too. I organized this shoot in about 4 months and I'm completely amazed at the final outcome.Growing up near the Deland area- the small town has always had a place in my heart. The historic downtown district is treasured by the locals for its art, music, southern charm, and culture. I wanted to display an early fall photo shoot catered to a particular well-known venue in downtown Deland called Cafe Da Vinci. The venue is popular for its music entertainment and nightlife, but they also rent out their space for a variety of events. Cafe Da Vinci has always embraced a rustic ambiance. It's versatility and potential initially inspired the styled shoot. Lee Forrest, owner of Lee Forrest Design captured my vision of a Sunflower theme which depicts the season's colors. Mark Shuttleworth, owner of Florida Victorian Architectural Salvage & Antiques operates next door to Cafe Da Vinci. Further into the planning Mark and I picked some of his unique inventory to complete the design. The combination of location and creativity of all the professionals finally brought the vision to life. Cafe Da Vinci is the perfect venue for a DIY bride. Styling your own wedding can appear intimidating, but you are not alone! Collaborate with your desired vendors and they will help you achieve your vision. "Flowers for this photo shoot reflected a more casual, Southern backyard sort of elegance, which complimented the salvaged architectural elements, columns and ironworks that the owner of Cafe Da Vinci has collected over the years. Natural unstructured arrangements of bright golden Sunflowers, coral-orange Wild Spirit garden roses, Pink O'Hara garden roses, bright yellow Viking Mums with black centers, White Monte Casino, Orange Marigolds, golden Yarrow and pale pink Hydrangeas are flowers that may be commonly found in vintage Southern gardens-and reflects the rich, charmingly quirky character of the venue. We had a lot of fun putting this shoot together, from selecting mis-matched vintage milk glass vases, old liquor bottles, and medicine bottles that we used as bud vases. In addition to the custom-made wrought iron candelabras, pairing the mis-matched china, gold flatware, crystal wine glasses, and gold mercury glass votive candle holder, which when all juxtaposed together looked very rich- yet effortlessly blended. All together the floral arrangements consisted of Sunflowers, orange Wild Spirit garden roses, yellow Spray roses, golden Yarrow, orange Marigolds, burgundy Kangaroo paws, Viking mums, yellow button Mums, White Monte Casino, and pale pink Hydrangeas." Thank you!
