How lovely are these two?! Christian and Megan are high school sweethearts who met at Deland High School. Christian wanted to make their 5th Year Dating Anniversary extra memorable and planned to pop the question! Read on to hear from Megan about the sweet proposal details and where Christian got down on one knee!
"A few months before Christian actually popped the question, we had been talking about getting engaged for a while. My mom gave me a beautiful diamond ring that belonged to my grandmother who had passed away a few years prior to use for my engagement ring. Christian took me to countless jewelry stores looking for the perfect setting for my grandmother's diamond, he knew it was so special to me and he wanted me to get exactly what I wanted. We finally found the perfect setting and got the ring made, and Christian quickly stashed it away for the perfect time to surprise me with it.
Fast forward a few months to our five year anniversary. We both love Disney, and we decided to get a Disney hotel and spend two days at the parks to celebrate. We spent the actual day of our anniversary at Animal Kingdom, and left early afternoon to check into the beautiful Port Orleans French Quarter Resort. After we checked in, we left and headed to dinner at our favorite place in Epcot, the Japan pavilion!
We first checked out the giant gift shop like we normally do, but this time Christian snuck away to tell the Disney photographer that he would be proposing in a few minutes and asked if she could be ready to snap some photos! She was so excited and Christian met back up with me in the gift shop. We left the gift shop and walked to the edge of the water under the Torii Gate, and when I turned to talk to Christian, he was down on one knee! We were both crying and Christian said a bunch of sweet things that I can't remember because I was so emotional, but of course I said yes! A big crowd had formed and were cheering for us after we got engaged. We called our parents and family and shared photos, and then enjoyed dinner at Teppan Edo where they gave us a free congratulatory dessert and made us matching origami rings! Everything was perfect, and we got to spend the next day at Magic Kingdom celebrating our engagement together."
