A year ago today I marched down to my CPA's office to legally kickstart the process to become a corporate business structure. Okay- technically I drove, but I meant business once I parked that car and walked inside. Ha! Becoming a business owner has been both a thrilling and challenging journey. Thank you to all my sweet clients who continue to support and trust Erika Grace Photography, Inc. for their photography needs. This business wouldn't mean anything without my clients and helpful assistants. This weekend I will be working as always, but reflecting on the past year and dreaming big (and a whole lot of praying) for fresh vision to continue to serve in the many years ahead. Happy One Year to Erika Grace Photography, Inc.!! xo Erika Grace Styled: Dressed Boutique Flower bouquet: The Floral Boutique Business cards:Express Printing Photography: Judy Rech For those of you who are just getting to know me and are new to my blog , here are some fun facts: 1. One of my favorite books is written Dr. Gary Chapman called " The 5 love languages". If you haven't heard of that book before, then hurry up and buy it already! It's extremely insightful and has helped me show love and appreciation to my tribe. Not everyone gives and receives love in the same way...for all you married and engaged folks out there (wink wink). Go read the book! I have to admit, my love language is physical touch and words of affirmation. I have no shame giving you a great big hug upon first meeting (thankfully my clients haven't freaked out yet, haha). Write me a hand written letter and you have made me one happy chick. As you can tell I'm very proud of all my thank you cards gifted over the years, as some are hung pretty near my desk. Yah! 2. Before Erika Grace Photography, Inc. I freelanced for a few years under my first and last name. After the business name transition I had to remind everyone that Grace is in fact my middle name! My parents named me after my Great Aunt Gracie. 3. I graduated from the University of Central Florida with my Bachelor of Science degree in Photography. The photography program is better known as the Southeast Center for Photographic Studies located at Daytona State College. On occasion my professors invite me to visit to help critique student's work and lead discussions. 4. I'm based in sweet ol' Deland, about 10 minutes way from the Downtown area. I serve Orlando and surrounding areas, but I adore my home town and enjoy the escape from the city after a photo job. Can you tell that I'm a country lady at heart? I grew up on a farm with 3 horses, several chickens, a sheep, 3 goats, 2 dogs, 4 ducks, and a few barn cats. Life on the farm was a blast...most of the time. Let's just say, I've been thrown off horses, ran over by my sheep , chased after by a flying rooster, and perhaps a few other crazy hilarious situations that shall be unspoken, haha! Reminiscing now, I think one of my favorite memories was riding my sheep. It was totally okay, I was a 90 lb kid riding a sheep twice my size. I wouldn't trade it for the world, because that type of lifestyle taught me hard work and to appreciate nature. Thanks Mom and Dad! Styled: Dressed Boutique Flower bouquet: The Floral Boutique
