It's your wedding day!! Imagine you just said your "I-do's", kissed, and now you are walking down the aisle as newlyweds. Eyyy Congrats!! What's next? FAMILY PORTRAITS! This can feel daunting to some couples especially when each family has its own dynamics and characters. Rest assured I can help provide you with tips on how to maintain order and peace during your family portrait time. It doesn't have to be as stressful as you think!
Now onto #3...
3. Family Dynamics & comfort- My approach and care is the same for each family, I want you and your loved ones to feel comfortable! Whether it's photographing with elderly grandparents first to help them sit down and relax quicker. Or posing certain family members on different sides of the couple to keep the peace. If there are any traces of family tension it may be best to do a few group variations to keep everyone at ease. Remember to keep the 8 groupings rule in mind though due to time restraint. If that's not possible you have OPTIONS! Extend cocktail hour longer for us to photograph more family groups OR start family formals before ceremony. Also to prevent extended family members from feeling any sort of "left out" syndrome reassure them we can photograph casual portraits during reception. They're happy and you're happy-it's a win win.
Take a deep breath and mediate on goodness. Everything will turn out wonderful!
Happy wedding planning! xo
